Last Meetings

vs. Mount Saint Vincent: On April 1, 2014, the Lady Bears dropped both ends of a doubleheader at MSV. St. Joseph's struggled to kick-start their offense in game one, suffering a 3-0 defeat after mustering just one hit. Despite suffering the loss, Jackie Perillo tossed a complete game in the circle, surrendering just three earned runs.

Game two saw another pitcher's duel, with the Dolphins eventually walking off 3-2 in a dramatic extra innings affair. Jamilynn McGowan pitched valiantly despite suffering the loss, allowing one earned run in 7 2/3 innings of work.

vs. New Rochelle: On May 4, 2014, St. Joseph's cruised to an 18-0 triumph over the Blue Angels to advance to the HVIAC Tournament final. Jamilynn McGowan spun a complete-game two-hitter finishing with eight strikeouts to help pace the Lady Bears. St. Joseph's jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the first inning, using nine hits and four Blue Angel errors to put the game out of reach.

The following day, the Lady Bears will travel to New Rochelle for their first HVIAC clash of the season.

Lady Bears Last Time Out

St. Joseph's suffered their second consecutive doubleheader sweep on Sunday, falling 5-4 and 10-5 to John Jay College (10-12).

The Bloodhounds built an early 4-0 advantage after two innings in game one. The Lady Bears' bats remained silent until the top of the sixth, when they erupted for four runs to knot up the score. Senior Cassandra Molinari got the rally started with a one-out single. Fellow senior Jackie Perillo brought her classmate home and cut the deficit in half with one swing, driving a two-run homerun to left-center field. Two more singles and an error brought the Lady Bears even at four.

But John Jay countered right back with the eventual winning run in the bottom half of the inning. Theresa Armano suffered the loss despite going the distance in the circle. The freshman allowed three earned runs and fanned two in six innings.

Just like game one, John Jay manufactured a 4-0 lead after two innings in the capper. And once again, the Lady Bears fought back to even the score. But John Jay reclaimed the momentum with a four-run bottom of the fourth to silence St. Joseph's and claim the sweep.
