Softball at John Jay Canceled Wrapping Up Inaugural Season Under Coach Fazzolare

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) softball doubleheader at John Jay College originally scheduled for this Sunday has been canceled.

The Lady Bears conclude their first season under Head Coach Danielle Fazzolare at 9-16 overall and 4-14 in league play, completing their first season in the Skyline Conference in eighth place.

Senior Erica Eddy (Glendale, N.Y./Christ the King) ends her two-year career batting .313 (46-for-147) with 33 RBI and 36 runs scored. With 6-of-16 runners caught stealing this season, Eddy set a new single-season record for lowest stolen base percentage against (.625) and also set a new single-season record with four sacrifice flies.

Sophomore Stephanie Rancel (Middle Village, N.Y./Christ the King) becomes the sixth Lady Bear to maintain a perfect fielding percentage (minimum 25 chances) over a single season. Rancel and Samantha Simon (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) also matched a single-season record with four sacrifice hits.
