  • SJC Starters: Csikortos (RF), Rancel (LF), Wainwright (DP), Ferrigno (3B), Gentile (1B), Marino (CF), Quintana (2B), Simon (SS), Baglino (C), Mahoney (P)
  • St. Joseph's got on the board quickly posting three in the top of the first. Csikortos started the inning with a single, stole second, advanced to third on a grounder and came home on a Wainwright single for the deciding run. The Bears loaded the bases drawing back-to-back walks and after Wainwright scored on a wild pitch, Destiny Marino belted a single that scored Kristin Ferrigno.
  • A three-run cushion was more than enough for Mahoney (2-0) who struck out the side in the first and retired the first 10 batters she faced. Cobleskill spoiled the perfect game bid on a Quesha Sells infield single in the fourth and a Bears miscue later allowed her to move to third, but Mahoney preserved the shutout with a grounder and she worked another perfect inning in the fifth.
  • Csikortos led off the second with a double and later scored on a wild pitch and Stephanie Rancel knocked a single and later stole home to move the Bears ahead 5-0. SJC tacked on a solo run in the fourth on a Wainwright double that scored Rancel—the second of her three runs scored in the game.
  • A Kristin Ferrigno two-out single, two-run single highlighted a five-run frame that put the game out of reach.
  • Csikortos (2-4), Wainwright (2-3) and Ferrigno (2-3) all knocked two hits apiece as the Bears combined for nine hits.
  • Wainwright and Ferrigno were the top run producers with two RBI each. Csikortos and Rancel (1-2) both scored three runs each with Rancel swiping three bases on the game.

Game 2: St. Joseph's 13, Notre Dame (Maryland) 1 (5 inn)

  • SJC Starters: Csikortos (2B), Rancel (LF), Wainwright (DP), Ferrigno (3B), Gentile (1B), Marino (CF), Quintana (2B), Simon (SS), Campuries (C), Armano (P)
  • Notre Dame drew first blood in the top of the first off a Sydney Salgado RBI double, but that would be the only blemish to starter Theresa Armano (1-0) as she settled in and struck out five and scattered just six hits and two walks to pick up her first win of the season.
  • The Bears quickly got the run back putting up four in the bottom half, Notre Dame issuing a pair of walks start the inning, followed by a Wainwright single to load the bases. Ferrigno opened the scoring with a two-run single and Marino later belted a double to bring home Wainwright.
  • St. Joseph's tacked on two unearned runs in the second on a pair of Gator miscues and blew the game open in the third with six more runs. Csikortos highlighted the third with a two-run single that scored Marino and Nicole Quintana who knocked hits earlier in the inning and Wainwright delivered Csikortos home with a double.
  • Csikortos finished the game 3-for-3 with two RBI, two runs, and a double.
  • Wainwright (2-4, 3 R, RBI), Marino (2-3, RBI, R, 2B) and Sarah Kampuries (2-3, R) all knocked a pair of hits each. It was the first collegiate hits for Kampuries.
