PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — Behind a gem from sophomore Victoria Mahoney (Allenwood, N.J./Saint John Vianney), the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) softball team remained in a scoreless deadlock with St. Joseph's College (Long Island), but the Bears suffered a 1-0 defeat in the third extra inning of the opener of their Skyline Conference doubleheader. The 10-inning affair was the longest in program history as Mahoney set a new record for innings pitched (9.1) and fell one strikeout shy of matching the single-game program record.

The Bears managed to get on the board in game two, but the Golden Eagles fired a three-hitter to sweep the doubleheader.
