Mahoney Nabs Skyline Softball Pitcher of the Week Honor

NEW YORK — Posting a 0.64 ERA over a pair of games last week, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) junior Victoria Mahoney (Allenwood, N.J./Saint John Vianney) was selected as the Skyline Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for March 26-April 1 as announced by the league office this morning.

The junior hurler allowed just one run over 11 innings pitched in a non-conference doubleheader against Rutgers-Newark on Wednesday. She took a tough-luck loss going the distance in a 1-0 pitchers' duel in the opener and pitched five scoreless innings in the nightcap, scattering 10 hits over the twinbill and finishing the day tossing 10 consecutive scoreless frames.

Mahoney receives the Pitcher of the Week accolade for the first time this season and the second time in her career.

The Bears are scheduled to return to the diamond and resume Skyline Conference play hosting first-place Mount Saint Mary on Saturday, April 7. The doubleheader at Gil Hodges Field is set to begin at 12 p.m.
