Raccuglia Announced As USCAA and AD3I Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Junior Taylor Raccuglia (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Player of the Week after helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's basketball team to an impressive win over perennial Skyline Conference power Mount Saint Mary on Saturday.

Raccuglia was the catalyst of a St. Joseph's team that went 1-2 during the week including an impressive 70-60 win over the reigning Skyline Conference champion Knights. The junior began her week dropping in a team-high-tying 11 points against Northwestern (Minn.) while also finishing with seven boards as the Lady Bears took part in the Colorado College New Year's Ball.

The forward followed that performance up with her third straight double figure scoring output with 12 points against Wisconsin-Stout. Raccuglia filled out the stat-sheet against the Blue Devils with seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.

The junior concluded the week with her third double-double of the season against Mount Saint Mary finishing with 17 points and 10 caroms while giving out four helpers and swatting away a career-high-tying five shots. On the week, Raccuglia stuffed the stat-sheet averaging 13.3 points per game, 8.0 rebounds per game, 3.3 assists per game, 1.7 steals per game and 2.3 blocks per game.

The Player of the Week honor is the fourth earned by Raccuglia this season having earned AD3I and HVIAC Player of the Week on December 24th. The forward takes home the first USCAA accolade of her career. The junior is also the first repeat Player of the Week recipient for the Lady Bears this season.
