AD3I Student-Athlete of the Month Honor Bestowed Upon McNamee

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) has named senior Kelly McNamee (Glendale, N.Y./Mary Louis) its Female Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of December after the guard led the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's basketball in scoring and to a 4-1 record.

McNamee stuffed the stat-sheet for the Lady Bears averaging 11.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. The senior opened up the month with a 17-point, 4-assist effort at Apprentice, going 7-of-14 (50 percent) from the floor, as the Lady Bears beat their USCAA rivals for the second straight year. McNamee had her best game of the month in St. Joseph's overtime win at Old Westbury. The guard scored a career-high 22 points against the Panthers, hitting 10-of-21 (47.6 percent) from the field while securing three rebounds and dishing out five assists.

McNamee concluded December with an 11-point outing against Northwestern (Minn.) in the Lady Bears lone loss of the month. The senior continues to lead St. Joseph's averaging a career- and team-high 13.1 points per game on the year and is shooting an efficient 39.2 percent (20-of-51) from beyond the arc.

The senior takes home the monthly accolade for the first time in her career and is recognized by AD3I for the second time this season after being named Player of the Week on November 26th. McNamee becomes the first Lady Bear to take home Student-Athlete of the Month since sophomore Lauren GaNun from women's volleyball earned the honor in October.

St. Joseph's (8-6) has a week off before concluding their three-game homestand at Brooklyn Technical High School with a matchup against CCNY on Monday, January 20th at 7:30 p.m.
