Moran Recognized as USCAA and AD3I Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior Megan Moran (Syosset, N.Y./St. Dominic's) was tabbed the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) women's basketball Player of the Week after leading the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's basketball team to a 1-1 mark during the week.

Moran continued her strong play since the start of the New Year averaging a double-double with 16.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game along with 4.0 assists as St. Joseph's picked up a win over York College on Wednesday.

The senior began the week with a game-high-tying 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting along with eight boards as the Lady Bears defeated the Cardinals, 57-50. The forward concluded the week with her second double-double of the season finishing with 15 points, a career-high 14 rebounds along with five assists.

Moran takes home AD3I Player of the Week for the first time in her career, but was named USCAA Player of the Week on December 3rd. The senior becomes the third different Lady Bear to earn the weekly accolade this year as she follows fellow senior Kelly McNamee and Taylor Raccuglia as recipients of the award.

St. Joseph's (14-9) returns to the hardwood on Wednesday, February 12th at 8 p.m. as they play at HVIAC foe The College of New Rochelle in their regular season finale.
