Four Lady Bears Receive Year-End Honors From AD3I

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior Kelly McNamee (Glendale, N.Y./Mary Louis) was named to the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) All-Independent First Team after helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's basketball team to a 16-12 record and an appearance in the USCAA National Tournament.

Senior Megan Moran (Syosset, N.Y./St. Dominic's) and junior Taylor Raccuglia (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) earned Second Team All-Independent Team honors, while junior Samantha Retas (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) received honorable mention.

McNamee, a USCAA All-American honorable mention selection and member of the HVIAC All-Conference Team, concluded her career in style averaging a career- and team-high 12.8 points per game (No. 8 in AD3I) on 33.0 percent shooting from beyond the arc (No. 4 in AD3I) and 90.9 percent shooting at the charity stripe. The one-time AD3I Player of the Week and Student-Athlete of the Month also added 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game to her stat line.

Last year's Second Team selection ended the season with 18 games of 10 or more points and led the Lady Bears in scoring 11 times. The guard scored a career-high 23 points, including her 900th career point, against Berkeley College in the HVIAC Tournament semifinals.

Moran, a HVIAC All-Conference selection, averaged a career-high 12.6 points per game on 46.7 percent shooting (No. 4 in AD3I) along with 7.0 rebounds per game. The two-time USCAA Player of the Week had three double-doubles on the season and saved her best performance of the season for the final game of her career against Maine-Fort Kent, scoring 28 points on 12-of-14 shooting in the Lady Bears 67-65 win at the USCAA Tournament.

Raccuglia, an honorable mention honoree a year ago and a member of the HVIAC All-Conference Team this year, did a little bit of everything for St. Joseph's averaging 2.4 blocks per game (No. 3 in AD3I), a career-high 10.9 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game and a team-high 3.0 assists per game. The one-time HVIAC Player of the Week became the second Lady Bears ever to reach 100 blocks with two blocks against York College on February 5th.

Retas, last year's Player of the Year and First Team selection, was St. Joseph's number one double-double threat finishing with nine on the year. The one-time USCAA Player of the Week averaged 9.3 points per game, a team-high 10.9 rebounds per game (No. 2 in AD3I) along with 2.4 blocks per game and 2.6 assists per game.
