Retas Named AD3I Women's Basketball Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Senior forward Samantha Retas (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) was named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) women's basketball women's basketball Player of the Week for her performance on the court for St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn).

The senior recorded a double-double, with a game-high 19 points, 12 rebounds and added six assists in the Lady Bears' lone game against Southern Virginia on November 29th. 

She has now recorded two double-doubles in the first four games for St. Joseph's and leads the team with 13.2 points per game. Retas is currently second in the Association with 12.8 rebounds per game and is tied for third in AD3I by shooting an even 50 percent from the field.

Retas earns the first AD3I Player of the Week accolade for the Lady Bears this season and has now won the award for the sixth time in her career. She last won the award the week of January 29th, 2013 as a sophomore.

The Lady Bears (3-1) return to action on Thursday, December 4th travelling to Riverdale, N.Y. for a 5:30 p.m. matchup against future Skyline Conference rival Mount Saint Vincent.
