Kiley Repeats as Skyline Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week

NEW YORK — For the second consecutive week, Emma Kiley (Whitestone, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) was selected as the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office earlier today. The freshman center averaged 24.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocks last week, leading the Bears to a 2-0 week.

In her first collegiate home game against Brooklyn College, Kiley surpassed her previous season-high in points, scoring 29 while going 12-for-14 shooting (85.7) in the Bears' 79-72 win over the Bulldogs. She was one rebound shy from a double-double, pulling down nine boards and dishing out three assists. Kiley recorded her second double-double of the season in the conference-opening win at Farmingdale State on Saturday, totaling 20 points and 14 rebounds. She also rejected eight shots, tying the program's single-game blocks record in the process.

Kiley leads the Skyline in blocks with 18 and is in the top five in six other statistical categories; including field goal percentage (56.1), points per game (17.4) and total rebounds (49).

Kiley and the Bears (2-3, 1-0 Skyline) return to The Hill Center on Tuesday, November 26 as they take on the College of Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline matchup tipping off at 5 p.m. Live stats and video for the game can be found on SJCBears.com/live.
