Schedule Announced for Reigning Hudson Valley Champion Women's Soccer Team

2013 Women's Soccer Schedule

BROOKLYN, N.Y.  The defending Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) champions will play a 15-game schedule in their sophomore campaign as the 2013 women's soccer schedule was announced by St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) head coach Vadim Chernyakhovsky.

The Lady Bears head to Allentown, Pa. to begin their second varsity season at the Cedar Crest College Tournament where they meet Lehman in an opening round matchup (September 7) with host Cedar Crest or borough foes NYU-Poly waiting in the wings.

St. Joseph's returns to the home borough for a showdown at Brooklyn College (September 11) followed by their home opener against CCNY on September 22nd at Brooklyn Technical High School.

After an impressive inaugural season in which the Lady Bears finished 7-4-2 overall, Chernyakhovsky and his young squad expects even more success in 2013. The Lady Bears begin their defense of their conference title on September 25 at home against Medgar Evers, starting a stretch of 7-of-8 straight games in the newly rebranded Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC).

The Lady Bears will face two tough road opponents in preparation for the HVIAC Tournament with a featured matchup against sibling rivals St. Joseph's (Long Island) on October 19th followed by a road trip to Washington, D.C. to square off against USCAA-foes Washington Adventist – two of six doubleheaders coupled with the Bears on the 2013 slate.

St. Joseph's concludes their six-game home schedule – King's (October 5), Yeshiva (October 8), Brooklyn College (October 16) – and closes out the regular season with a Senior Night game hosting John Jay on October 30.

This year's HVIAC conference tournament begins on Sunday, October 27th and concludes with the championship game scheduled for Sunday, November 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Albany Pharmacy. The top four teams qualify for the HVIAC tournament.
