Fahy Earns AD3I and HVIAC Weekly Accolades

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Recognizing her outstanding performance on the field in helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's soccer team to their first win of the season, sophomore midfielder Shannon Fahy (Breezy Point, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) women's soccer Player of the Week and Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) women's soccer Rookie of the Week.

Fahy helped power the Lady Bears' first win of the season tallying three goals in the conference win over Medgar Evers and played a part in eight goals in total, finishing with a school-record five assists and 11 points. The rookie sophomore scored her team-leading fourth goal against HVIAC-undefeated Albany Pharmacy, only the second surrendered by the Panthers in league play this season. The midfielder now has a team-high 13 points on the season which ranks her third in AD3I and Fahy's five assists places her atop the rankings in the Association.

The award is the first earned by a Lady Bear this season and is the first earned by the sophomore in her brief career.

St. Joseph's continues HVIAC play as they travel to Bronxville, N.Y. on Wednesday, October 2nd for matchup against Sarah Lawrence at 6 p.m.
