Fahy Earns AD3I Player of the Week Honors for Third Time

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's soccer sophomore Shannon Fahy (Breezy Point, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) women's soccer Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Fahy led St. Joseph's to a 1-1 week which included an important win over Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) foe Berkeley College on Tuesday to clinch the final spot in the HVIAC Tournament semifinals. The rookie tallied a career-high four goals in the 5-1 win including the game-winner early in the second half with the score tied at 1-1 that gave the defending tournament champions the No. 4 seed. The midfielder fired off a game-high 11 shots on goal and now has a team-high 11 goals with three games of three or more goals to help produce a team-high 28 points. Fahy leads St. Joseph's with 24 shots on goal and is the first player to receive the award three times from AD3I.

The sophomore has earned all five accolades for the Lady Bears this season as she has also been named HVIAC Rookie of the Week two times.

St. Joseph's returns to the field on Wednesday, October 30th hosting John Jay in their 2013 home finale at the Aviator Sports Complex with a start time of 6 p.m.
