Four Lady Bears Awarded USCAA All-Academic Team Accolades

CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) has named St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's soccer team members Melissa Maloy (Staten Island, N.Y./St. John Villa), Lauren Kelly (Bayside, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy), LauraLynne Duffy (Cutchogue, N.Y./Bishop McGann-Mercy Diocesan) and Maria Randazzo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall) to the 2013 women's soccer National All-Academic Team in recognition of their outstanding performances both on the soccer field and in the classroom.

Maloy, a junior, is tabbed to the All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year and has made 12 appearances at defense for the Lady Bears helping lead the St. Joseph's with her outstanding defensive play.

Kelly, a sophomore, appeared in 13 games for St. Joseph's making 10 starts. The midfielder recorded two goals on the year with both coming against Medgar Evers. Kelly finished the season with seven shots.

Duffy, a senior, takes home All-Academic honors in her lone season with the Lady Bears. Duffy played in all 15 games for the Lady Bears this season playing primarily on defense.

Randazzo, a sophomore, earns All-Academic honors in her first year of eligibility after appearing in 11 games for St. Joseph's.

USCAA National All-Academic Team members must be sophomore academic standing or higher and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.5 grade point average in order to qualify.
