Caruso Tabbed HVIAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) freshman Christina Caruso (Queens, N.Y./Christ the King) has been named the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) women's soccer Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office yesterday.

This is Caruso's first award of her collegiate career and is the third time a Lady Bear has won the honor this season.

The freshman has tallied four goals in her last three games, including a goal in the 86th minute that broke a scoreless tie in the Lady Bears' shutout victory over Lehman on October 7th. The midfielder now has five goals on the season, putting her in the top 10 in the HVIAC.

St. Joseph's (8-3, 1-2 HVIAC) returns to the pitch tonight, hosting Medgar Evers College at the Aviator Sports and Events Center. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. and will be followed by the Bears vs. the Cougars in the nightcap of the doubleheader.
