BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Freshman Cansu Usta (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fort Hamilton) and junior Shannon Fahy (Breezy Point, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) were both recognized by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) as Women's Soccer All-American honorable mentions, while Pamela Chernyakhovsky (Brooklyn, N.Y./Leon M. Goldstein), Melissa Maloy (Staten Island, N.Y./St. John Villa), Maria Randazzo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall), and Kristin D'Chiutiis (Brooklyn, N.Y./Scholars Academy) have been named to the 2014 USCAA National All-Academic Team in recognition of their outstanding performances both on the pitch and in the classroom.

Usta compiled an NCAA-leading 37 goals over the season, tallying a goal in 11 of 16 games, recording hat tricks in six games. This included twice scoring six goals, tied for most in a single game this season. The rookie also has an NCAA-best 79 points and 2.25 goals per game average that would set a new single season NCAA Division III record.

Fahy's tallied 19 goals, which was sixth in the USCAA and second highest on the Lady Bears this season. She also was tied for eighth with 44 total points, adding six assists in her junior campaign.

This is the first time Chernyakhovsky was named to the All-Academic Team. The junior led the Lady Bears and finished fourth in NCAA Division III with 14 assists and finished third on the team with 16 goals. She also finished second on the team with 46 total points.

Maloy, a senior, is tabbed to the All-Academic Team for the third consecutive year. She started and played in all 15 games at defense for the Lady Bears, helping lead the team with her outstanding defensive play.

The junior Randazzo earns All-Academic honors for the second straight year of eligibility after appearing in 13 games and tallying an assist for the Lady Bears.

This is the first time D'Chiutiis has been named All-Academic for soccer, but won for both basketball and cross country last season. She played and started in three games for the Lady Bears, and notched an assist.

USCAA National All-Academic Team members must be sophomore academic standing or higher and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.5 grade point average in order to qualify.
