Women's Soccer Visits Purchase in Skyline Affair

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Izabella Armstrong (Farmdale, Ohio/Badger HS) made 17 saves but Purchase College received a six-goal outburst from Riley Graham to deal the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) a 12-0 defeat in Skyline Conference play on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • Marykate McGee scored the first two goals and four times in the opening 15 minutes to put the Panthers up 5-0.
  • Riley Graham scored her first goal in the 14th minute and finished with four first half goals as Purchase took a 9-0 lead at intermission.

For the Lady Bears

  • Shannon Fahy led St. Joseph's with two shots and recorded the only shot on goal.
  • Pam Chernyakhovsky had one shot on goal.
  • Starting in goal, Kristin Ferrigno made two saves in taking the loss.
  • Armstrong came into replace Ferrigno and finished with double-digit saves the last six games

For the Panthers

  • Graham's six goals gives her 21 on the season, tops in the Skyline Conference.
  • McGee scored her 11th goal of the season, also assisting on another.
  • Emily Saltman had two goals and three assists.
  • Purchase held a 58-3 shot discrepancy for the contest and 10-0 edge in corner kicks.

The Lady Bears will continue Skyline Conference play facing Mount Saint Mary College on Tuesday, October 13th at 5 p.m. in Newburgh, N.Y. in a game that was rescheduled from September 16.
