Women’s Soccer Celebrates Senior Night Hosting Sarah Lawrence in Home Finale

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Seniors Kristen Candelaria (Jamaica, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) and Jamilynn McGowan (Staten Island, N.Y./Michael J. Petrides) were honored on Senior Night but the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's soccer team dropped an 8-0 decision to Sarah Lawrence College on a cold and windy Saturday evening.

How It Happened

  • Despite facing a stiff wind for the first half, Sarah Lawrence got on board quickly scoring just eight minutes in on a penalty kick after a handball in the box. The Gryphons scored three goals in a span of just under six minutes all off the foot of Paige Smith.
  • The visitors scored four goals in each half and held the Bears without an official shot.
