Lawson Unveils 16-Game Women's Soccer Schedule

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The sixth season of St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's soccer features a 16-game 2017 campaign that begins on Saturday, September 2 with a road match at Bard College in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Head Coach Gary Lawson returns for his second season at the helm with a deep incoming class and having graduated just two seniors.

Following the opener at Bard, the Bears will play six more non-conference tests in preparation for a full Skyline Conference schedule. St. Joseph's welcomes CUNYAC foes York College on September 9, opening a doubleheader with the men, to begin a six-game home slate at Aviator Field.

After trips to New Jersey and Pennsylvania to face the College of St. Elizabeth (September 13) and the University of Valley Forge (September 19), the Bears will return to Aviator Field to host Medgar Evers College (September 25) in their final tune-up before league play begins two days later at sibling rivals SJC Long Island (September 27).

The Bears will play four of their final five conference games at home. After two weeks on the road, the Bears return to Aviator Field to host league runner-up Mount Saint Mary College for a weeknight tilt on October 11.

Also highlighting the home slate is a Breast Cancer Awareness Game against Yeshiva University on October 17 and the regular season finale against Sarah Lawrence College on October 25 as the team celebrates Senior Night.

The six-team Skyline Conference Championships open with first-round play on Saturday, October 28.
