Sequeira and Molic Nab Hat Tricks as Women’s Soccer Downs Valley Forge for Third Straight Win

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. — Freshmen Deserae Sequeira (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) and Anisah Molic (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan Wagner) lifted the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's soccer team over the University of Valley Forge on Tuesday. Both rookies picked up a hat trick in the win and gave the program something it hasn't seen since 2014; three consecutive triumphs.

The Basics

  • Final Score: St. Joseph's 9, Valley Forge 0
  • Records: St. Joseph's (3-1), Valley Forge (3-4)
  • Location: Phoenixville, Pa.

How It Happened

  • The Bears kept the ball on Valley Forge's side of the field early, as they got off seven shots before the Patriots attempted their first in the 19th minute.
  • Sequeira pushed her consecutive goal streak to three games in the the 27th minute, giving SJC a 1-0 lead.
  • In the 37th minute, fellow rookie Rachel Rocha (Linden, N.J./Linden) notched her own three-game goal streak on a penalty kick, the first converted for the Bears this year. Not so much as two minutes later Rocha was at it again, scoring on an assist from Sequeira as the St. Joseph's lead climbed to 3-0 at the half.
  • Sequeira started the scoring in the latter 45, picking up her eighth goal of the season in the 60th minute to pad the lead. She would then go on to secure her second hat trick of the season in the 67th minute, finding the back of the net yet again.
  • Freshman Lisa Loschiavo (Malverne, N.Y./Valley Stream North) got in on the action in the 78th minute, converting her second goal of the season on an assist from Sequeira.
  • Just 26 seconds later Sequeira dropped another dime, this time to rookie Anisah Molic (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan Wagner). Molic would ride this momentum to yet another Bears goal in the 82nd minute, and once again four minutes later to secure a hat trick of her own and the third straight SJC win.
