Fahrmann Collects Skyline Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week Accolades

NEW YORK — Freshman Haley Fahrmann (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale) led the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's soccer team to a 2-1 mark last week as they matched their best start in program history (5-1) and won their Skyline Conference opener for the second-straight season. Fahrmann scored five goals across the three outings, including her first collegiate hat trick, earning her first-ever Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week award, announced by the league office today.

The Minnesota native tallied one of two SJC goals in a 6-2 loss to John Jay last Tuesday and followed with her first-career game-winning goal in a 4-3 triumph over borough rival Brooklyn College on Saturday. Then, in the Bears' Skyline opener at home against Yeshiva, Fahrmann exploded for three goals in the first half, including the game-winning score in just the fourth minute as SJC ran away with a 14-0 victory.

Fahrmann currently leads the team with a .375 shot percentage and ranks tied for second with six goals through the first six games of her career.

The award is the Bears' second weekly honor of the season after junior Deserae Sequeira (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) took home Skyline Player of the Week kudos on September 3.

St. Joseph's women's soccer is back on the pitch this Wednesday (Sep. 18) taking on Medgar Evers College with kick-off from Kingsborough C.C. set for 5 p.m.
