Kelly Raddar Introduced As Head Women’s Soccer Coach

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Director of Athletics and Recreation Margaret Alaimo has announced the appointment of Kelly Raddar as head women's soccer coach at St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn).

"We are delighted to welcome Coach Raddar to St. Joseph's College and our Bears family," commented Alaimo. "His extensive coaching experience at every level combined with his commitment to the development of the whole student-athlete makes him a perfect fit for our program. I know he will hit the ground running and we are excited about the future of our women's soccer program."

As a soccer coach of over 18 years, Raddar brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, energy, and passion for the sport of soccer and for the student-athletes he works with. His coaching resume spans the collegiate, high school, olympic development program, club, and youth levels. A New England native, Raddar returns to the east coast after guiding Portland Community College in Oregon as head coach since 2018 where he led the Panthers to back-to-back Northwest Athletic Conference Championship tournament appearances — the first two winning seasons and playoff berths in team history.

"I wish to thank Margaret and the search committee for this wonderful opportunity and for the trust they have placed in me to lead such an amazing program with such outstanding student-athletes," remarked Raddar. "With the academics that St. Joseph's College offers, along with its great location and beautiful campus, I am quite confident we will continue to attract the caliber of student-athletes that'll help me continue to take this program to newer heights. I greatly look forward to the challenge."

Over the last 10 years, Raddar has coached at several higher education institutions across the country and at various levels of collegiate athletics. Prior to PCC, he's had head coaching tours at Treasure Valley Community College (Ontario, Oregon; NJCAA) and Bunker Hill Community College (Boston, Massachusetts; NJCAA), an associate head coaching stop at Middle Georgia College (Cochran, Georgia), and assistant coaching stints at Northern Michigan University (Marquette, Michigan; NCAA DII) and Eastern Nazarene College (Quincy, Massachusetts; NCAA DIII).

Over his coaching career, he's helped to produce two All-Americans, 18 All-Region, 15 All-State, 13 All-Star, and 25 All-Academic student-athletes. Prior to starting his collegiate coaching career in 2010, Raddar's high school and academy teams have made successful runs at winning three college showcase championships, two district championships, and two state finalists. He has also was director of coaching and operated several soccer camps and clinics across the United States, working with and preparing advanced and elite soccer prospects for the olympic development program and college-level play.

Raddar holds several soccer coaching licenses, including USSF E, USSF D, NSCAA Regional, and NSCAA Advanced Regional & Advanced Coaching Diplomas. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from ILC International (UK) and is currently pursuing a master's degree in coaching & athletics administration from Concordia University.
