Fahy and Chernyakhovsky Named to All-HVIAC Women's Soccer Team

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Sophomores Shannon Fahy (Breezy Point, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) and Pamela Chernyakhovsky (Brooklyn, N.Y./Leon M. Goldstein) have been named to the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) women's soccer All-Conference team as announced at the HVIAC championship game yesterday.

The duo helped the Lady Bears to a 5-11 mark overall on the season and 3-3 in league play, qualifying for a spot in the HVIAC Tournament in their second varsity season. 

Fahy, a three-time AD3I Player of the Week and two-time HVIAC Rookie of the Week, led the Lady Bears with 14 goals on the year breaking the previous record of 12 set by senior Cynthia Gambino (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) a year ago. The rookie also recorded six assists setting a new point record with 34 points on the year. The midfielder appeared in and started in all 16 games for the Lady Bears producing three game-winning goals while leading the team with 28 shots on goal. Fahy had four multi-goal games including a career-high four goals in St. Joseph's win over Berkeley that clinched the Lady Bears the No. 4 seed in the HVIAC Tournament. The sophomore set a school record with her five assists in St. Joseph's 11-0 win over Medgar Evers.

Chernyakhovsky, led the Lady Bears with a school-record eight assists on the year while also recording four goals. Last year's All-Conference Team selection finished second on the team with her 23 shots on goal and 16 points. The midfielder scored St. Joseph's lone goal against Brooklyn College on a direct kick from outside the penalty box. Chernyakhovsky set a career-high with four assists in the Lady Bears 8-0 win over Yeshiva while also firing a team-high 10 shots.
