Women's Swimming Splits Double Dual With Cedar Crest and Cazenovia

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Led by individual victories from both sophomore Morgan Summers (Bellerose, N.Y./St. Mary's) and junior Jaclyn Montana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bay Ridge Prep), the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's swimming team split a double-dual meet against Cedar Crest College and Cazenovia College on Saturday afternoon at Cedar Crest College.

St. Joseph's (1-2) defeated the host Falcons (0-9), 55-37 and was narrowly edged by the Wildcats, 51-44. Cazenovia concluded the sweep with a 58-33 triumph over Cedar Crest.

The Lady Bears captured three event wins in total, Summers capturing a victory in the 200-yard individual medley for the second consecutive meet with a time of 2:41.07. Montana took home first place honors in the 100-yard butterfly posting a time of 1:25.66. St. Joseph's earned the win in the final event of the day, the 400-yard freestyle relay, as Summers, junior Erin Collins (Breezy Point, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall), Montana and freshman Jillian O'Hara (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) posted a impressive time of 4:46.91 finishing over a minute before second place Cazenovia.

Recording a second place finish for St. Joseph's was senior Haley Betancourt (New York, N.Y./St. Vincent Ferrer) who finished runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:34.32.

The Lady Bears return to action on Tuesday, December 3rd as they take part in a double-dual meet featuring HVIAC foe College of New Rochelle and Old Westbury at Old Westbury with a start time of 6 p.m.
