Edwards Triumphs in Women's Tennis Skyline Finale at Farmingdale

FARMINGDALE, N.Y.— Mary Edward (Glendale, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) was victorious at singles but league undefeated, first place Farmingdale State College was too much for the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team in an 8-1 Skyline Conference loss on Saturday afternoon.

  • Pierre and Trerotola paired up at No. 1 doubles and managed to take two games off Priscilla Signore and Qurat-ul-ain Rai, but the Rams claimed both doubles matches to clinch the overall win as the Lady Bears defaulted two singles matches and a doubles match.
  • Edward rolled in the opening set of her No. 4 singles match against Savannah Haworth winning it at love before closing out the match up a break, 6-0, 6-4, for her first singles win of the season.

The Lady Bears will conclude their 2015 campaign on Sunday, October 25 with a non-conference match at CUNYAC foe Lehman College. First serve in the Bronx is set for 12 p.m.
