Women’s Tennis Edges Sarah Lawrence For First Skyline Win
FLUSHING, N.Y. — Sophomore Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) contributed a pair of points with wins at singles and doubles and Daniella Alva (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) clinched the deciding point with a straight-set singles win as the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team earned a 5-4 victory over Sarah Lawrence College on Tuesday evening. The victory was the first for the program since joining the Skyline Conference last season.

How It Happened
- Denise Trerotola and Mary Edward teamed up at No. 1 doubles and earned an 8-5 victory to give the Bears a 3-1 lead at the start of singles play with Sarah Lawrence defaulting the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles matches.
- Trerotola cruised to her second straight league win at No. 1 singles with a double-bagel win, 6-0, 6-0 to increase the Bears lead to 4-1.
- Daniella Alva won her opening set at No. 5 singles at love and won the second set by a break to clinch the win for SJC.
- With the overall match already decided, the Gryphons took the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches to close the final deficit.
