Women’s Tennis Drop First Skyline Matchup to Yeshiva

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — A road matchup with Yeshiva University (4-0, 3-0) on Thursday evening saw the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's tennis team (1-2, 0-1) drop their first Skyline match, 9-0.

Senior Valentina Valez Valencia (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) collected four games in a 6-0, 6-4 loss at No. 2 singles and classmate Daniella Alva (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) fell 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

Sophomore Ashleigh Hartwig (Santee, Calif./West Hills) suffered her first losses of the season after carrying a four-match overall win streak into tonight's contest. 

The Bears are back in action on Saturday, September 14 when they travel across the Verrazano to take on the College of Staten Island (0-1) with first serve set for 12 pm.
