Women’s Tennis Drops Season Finale on the Road to Mount Saint Mary

NEWBURGH, N.Y. — Katie Estes (Richmond, Vt./Mt. Mansfield Union) and Daniella Alva (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) picked up the lone point in doubles action for St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) in women's tennis' (3-10, 1-6 Skyline) loss to Mount Saint Mary (7-6, 4-3 Skyline), 8-1.

How It Happened

Estes and Alva were able to win in the No. 2 doubles spot, 8-5. With this win, Estes moved to five doubles wins and Alva moved to three doubles wins on the season.

Alva would also play a tight-knit match at No. 3 singles, dropping two sets, 6-4, 6-3.

Senior Valentina Velez Valencia (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) played a hard-fought No. 2 singles match, taking the first set, 6-4. She would drop the second set, 6-0, and lose in the super tiebreaker just by a score of 10-7.
