Matthews, Moran Earn All-Conference Recognition

BROOKLYN, NY – Following St. Joseph's second place finish in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Tournament, senior Kim Matthews (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney) and sophomore Megan Moran (Syosset, NY/St. Dominic's) were named to the HVWAC All-Conference team.

This marks the second consecutive season that Matthews has received this honor. Matthews led the Lady Bears this season with a career-high 277 kills and 306 digs and recorded 11 double-doubles. She also led the team with 63 service aces. During the Hudson Valley Tournament, Matthews finished her career with 28 kills and 25 digs in two games. She set a career-high mark of 22 kills in the semi-final matchup against Pratt.

Moran, named to the team for the first time, finished second on the team with a career high 149 kills and 50 service aces. She also led the team with a career best 26 blocks. Moran's offense picked up in the second half of the season with double-digit kills in five of her last 11 matches after having only one in the first 41 of her career. She recorded 12 in the semi-final round of the HVWAC tournament to push St. Joseph's into the finals.
