GaNun Sweeps Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Recognizing her outstanding play on the court and leading the Lady Bears to a 4-1 mark for the week ending October 14th, Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, NY/Fontbonne Hall) has been named collected Player of the Week honors from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I), and the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC).

The freshman middle hitter put down 66 kills for the week averaging 3.47 per set. GaNun achieved a .312 hitting percentage to go along with 11 blocks on the week. The freshman had four games with double digit kills, including a career- and team-high 20 in a five-set victory over Culinary.

It is the first time a Lady Bear has received the accolade from the USCAA and AD3I, and the second week in a row that GaNun has won the HVWAC award.

GaNun and the Lady Bears (11-4) return to the court on Thursday, October 18th against CCNY beginning a stretch of five road games to close out the regular season. First serve is slated for 7 pm at the Nat Holman Gymnasium.
