GaNun Tabbed HVIAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Sophomore middle hitter Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall) has been named the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) women's volleyball Player of the Week after helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball team to a 3-1 mark on the week.

GaNun helped provide the punch to the Lady Bears offense averaging 4.6 kills per set while hitting an efficient .350 as St. Joseph's moved back to .500 on the season and notched a pair of league victories. The sophomore recorded her second double-double of the season slamming down a career-high-tying 20 kills with a career-high 16 digs over King's (N.Y.) in their HVIAC opener. The middle hitter has recorded double-digit kills in each of St. Joseph's eight matches.

Last week's AD3I women's volleyball Player of the Week now leads the Lady Bears with her 117 kills and ranks first in the HVIAC averaging 4.18 kills per set and also tops the league with a .341 hitting percentage.

The award is the second earned by a Lady Bear this season following GaNun's AD3I accolade last week. For the sophomore it is the third time that she has been recognized as Player of the Week by the conference after earning the honor on October 9th and October 16th of last season.

St. Joseph's resumes action today as they travel to Manhattan to take on John Jay College at 7 p.m.
