BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Recognizing her outstanding performance on the court in helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball to their second consecutive conference title, sophomore Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall) has been named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) women's volleyball Player of the Week.

GaNun averaged a team-high 4.8 points per set and currently leads the HVIAC in kills per set (3.97) and hitting percentage (.292). The sophomore continues to lead the team in kills with 254 and has a team-high 34 blocks on the year.

The middle hitter picks up the USCAA honor in back-to-back weeks and now has won it three times in her career. GaNun has earned all seven awards given to Lady Bears this year.

St. Joseph's returns to action tonight as they honor seniors Megan Moran, Sabrina Cornia and Phia Martinez when they host HVIAC foe Sarah Lawrence at Brooklyn Technical High School with a start time of 7:30 p.m. With a win tonight, the Lady Bears will secure their second straight undefeated season in conference play.
