GaNun Tabbed AD3I Female Student-Athlete of the Month

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Recognizing her outstanding performance on the court in helping lead the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball team to a 10-4 record in October, sophomore Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Female Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of October.

GaNun, was the catalyst of the St. Joseph's offense leading the team in kills, kills per set, total blocks and hitting percentage. During the month the sophomore had eight double-doubles including 13 matches with double-digit kills and eight with double-digit digs. The middle hitter posted a school-record and career-high 25 kills in the Lady Bears win over Brooklyn College on October 23rd to go along with a career-high 20 digs.

The two-time USCAA Player of the Week and three-time HVIAC Player of the Week during the month of October finished the month averaging 4.06 kills per set, 2.82 digs per set, 0.62 blocks per set and 4.97 points per set to lead St. Joseph's to an undefeated record in conference play during the regular season for the second consecutive year.

The 2012 AD3I Rookie of the Year and All-Independent First Team selection earns the Student-Athlete of the Month honor for the first time in her career.
