GaNun Earns AD3I Player of the Week Honors

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) junior middle hitter Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) women's volleyball Player of the Week.

GaNun started the week off with a double-double at Staten Island, slamming down a team-high 15 kills to go along with a team-high 27 digs. The two-time AD3I First Team All-Independent selection concluded the week with a strong 15-kill performance in St. Joseph's straight-set victory at Old Westbury on Sept. 11. The junior hit an impressive .583 during the contest, committing only one attack error, and recorded five digs as the Lady Bears improved to 2-1 to begin the 2014 season.

It is the fourth time in her career GaNun has received the weekly honor from AD3I. GaNun was also named to the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honor roll.

GaNun and the Lady Bears take the court next on Wednesday, Sept. 17 as St. Joseph's faces U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in a non-conference road matchup at 7 p.m.
