GaNun Tabbed AD3I and USCAA Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— For the second straight week, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) middle hitter Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) women's volleyball Player of the Week.

The junior carried the Lady Bears offensively this past week with 63 kills, along with 31 digs and nine blocks over five matches. GaNun scored 31 of St. Joseph's 46 points in a tri-match against Washington Adventist and Staten Island on September 21st. The middle hitter tallied a career-high 27 kills and paired it with 13 digs for her second double-double of the season against Staten Island.

This is the fifth time in her career GaNun has received the weekly honor from AD3I and the fourth time she has received the honor from the USCAA a two-time recipient of each award last season.

GaNun and the rest of the Lady Bears will continue their 2014 campaign on Wednesday, September 24th with a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) match against King's (N.Y.) First serve is at 7:30 p.m. at Brooklyn Technical High School.
