GaNun Tabbed Skyline Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — After a three straight honor roll mentions, St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) senior Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall) was tabbed the Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league office earlier today.

Over the three-match week ending October 4th, GaNun averaged 4.67 kills per set with a .347 hitting percentage also had 2.83 digs per set on the defensive end.

The senior opened her week on Monday with 17 kills and no errors in a straight set victory over York College and capped her week yesterday with a season-high 27 kills in a five-set conference marathon with Maritime College, recording her third and fourth double-doubles in the process.

With her 56 kills last week, GaNun now sits just 24 away from becoming the second Lady Bear to reach the 1,000-kill club.

GaNun receives the Skyline Conference honor for the first time in her career, with SJC Brooklyn joining the 11-member league this past fall. She shares the honor this week with Rachel Liebig of The Sage Colleges.

The Lady Bears will open a three-match home stand this week at The Hill Center tomorrow hosting former Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rivals The King's College. First serve is slated for 7:30 p.m.
