Women's Volleyball Sweeps Yeshiva and Old Westbury to End Season on Three-Game Win Streak
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.—Capping their four-year careers on the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball team, Lauren GaNun (Breezy Point, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall) pounded 36 kills at a .421 clip and Anna Carbone (Ozone Park, N.Y./Mary Louis) dished out 50 assists with 30 digs leading the Lady Bears to a pair of straight-set Skyline Conference victories on Sunday afternoon over Yeshiva University and SUNY College at Old Westbury.

How It Happened vs. Yeshiva
- The Lady Bears overwhelmed Yeshiva with a season second-best .337 hitting percentage racking up 40 kills against only five errors. It was the first time this season reaching 40 kills in a three-set affair.
- GaNun led four Lady Bears with six kills or more, hammering 15 kills at a staggering .441 hitting percentage with no errors, also dominating the net with five solo blocks.
- Samantha Rossi matched a career-high seven kills, also committing no errors, for a .368 hitting and paired it with 10 digs.
- Anna Carbone registered her 12th double-double of the season dishing out 26 assists with 10 digs and added six kills to the attack.
- Nina DiCioccio logged eight kills at a .312 clip
- Samantha Cacace anchored the defense with a match-high-tying 16 digs and served up five aces.
- Gavriela Colton landed six kills to lead the Maccabees.
How It Happened vs. Old Westbury
- St. Joseph's raced out to 4-0, 7-0 and 5-0 leads to open all three sets and never trailed in the straight-set victory.
- GaNun was efficient once again, slaying 21 kills against only one miscue for a .408 hitting percentage. She also had 10 digs and four blocks on the defensive end for her eighth double-double of the season.
- Carbone handed out 24 assists and led the defense with 20 digs, recording her 13th double-double of the season. The senior also had five kills and two blocks.
- Rossi had 12 digs and Cacace had 10 digs rounding out four Lady Bears with double-digit digs that combined for 70 on the contest and held Old Westbury to a -.055 hitting percentage.
- Brittany Buchanan had five kills to pace the Panthers.

- The Lady Bears have won all nine meetings against their former Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rivals Yeshiva in a series that dates back to 2008.

- Carbone closes our her career as the all-time Lady Bear leader in digs (1134)—291 ahead of 2nd place—and fourth in assists (682) and assists per set (2.3).
