Women's Volleyball Bested by Mount Saint Mary
NEWBURGH, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) women's volleyball team (7-10, 4-5 Skyline) suffered a 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-10) road conference setback to Mount Saint Mary College (10-16, 4-5 Skyline) on Wednesday evening.
How it Happened
Both teams traded the lead early in the first before the Knights pulled away at 10-all with 9-3 run and the Bears could only pull within four before dropping the set 25-17.
The Bears found some efficiency in the second stanza putting away nine kills against only one error for a .348 hitting frame, but the Knights used 10-3 spurt midway through the frame to remain on top for a 25-20 win.
The hosts raced out to a 9-2 lead to open the third and maintained their advantage holding on for a 25-10 win to close out the match in straight sets.
For the Bears
- Senior Briana Marrazzo (East Elmhurst, N.Y./St. John's Prep) led the attack slamming eight kills at a .400 clip also bringing up six digs.
- Freshman Kaitlyn Intindola (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) registered a 17-assist, 10-dig double-double with four kills.
- Sophomore Cristina Morales (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) contributed seven kills with five digs.
