After years of waiting by the SJC Brooklyn community, construction on a new multi-purpose facility commenced on May 22, 2012. The new facility will house NCAA-regulation basketball and volleyball courts, a fitness center and locker rooms, and will be the first true on-campus athletics venue in the Brooklyn campus' history.

Volleyball Caps Regular Season With 12 Game Win Streak
The Lady Bears Volleyball team finished their 2008 season with another straight set victory over the Old Westbury Panthers on Wednesday night in front of a large crowd as the student body celebrated Spirit Day. Also in attendance were members of the NCAA Membership Committee conducting a campus visit as part of the NCAA provisional membership process. The victory increases the Lady Bears' winning streak to 12 and they haven't dropped a set in the last 8 matches. After starting the season at 4-4, adjusting to the new coaching staff, the Lady Bears now sit at 16-4 going into the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Tournament this weekend.
