Thirty Student-Athletes Named to Skyline Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll

Thirty Student-Athletes Named to Skyline Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll

NEW YORK — Recognizing outstanding achievement in the classroom and the playing field, 30 student-athletes from St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) were named to the Skyline Academic Honor Roll as announced by the league office on Friday.

"We are very proud and excited to have so many Bears recognized by the Skyline Conference," commented Director of Athletics and Recreation James Lally. "We have some of the best and brightest student-athletes at SJC Brooklyn, and their accomplishments in the classroom are outstanding. This group continues to exemplify what being a student-athlete is all about."

The academic honor roll distinguishes student-athletes in the league who compiled a 3.3 grade point average or better during the fall semester while competing in the conference's seven fall sports—men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

"The Skyline Conference student-athletes continue to shine in the classroom and their sports," said Skyline Conference Commissioner Linda Bruno. "Their balance speaks volumes to their character, while their exploits reflect the Division III philosophy statement and embody what the student-athlete experience should be."

In total, 447 student-athletes across 11 institutions received the distinction and the Bears increased their honorees over last year by 15 percent. Women's Soccer led the way with 11 selections while men's soccer followed with 10.

Three Bears also received all-conference honors in their respective sports — Denise Trerotola (women's tennis, first team), Deserae Sequeira (women's soccer, rookie of the year and first team), Anisah Molic (women's soccer, second team).

Congratulations to all the honorees from SJC Brooklyn:
