Thirty-Two Bears Land on Skyline Fall Academic Honor Roll

Thirty-Two Bears Land on Skyline Fall Academic Honor Roll

NEW YORK — Recognizing outstanding achievement in the classroom and the playing field, 32 student-athletes from St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) were named to the Skyline Academic Honor Roll as announced by the league office on Thursday.

The academic honor roll distinguishes student-athletes in the league who compiled a 3.3 grade point average or better during the fall semester while competing in men's and women's cross country, men's golf, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

"The Skyline Conference's student-athletes continue to put in championship performances in their sports and their studies," said Skyline Conference Commissioner Linda Bruno. "Congratulations to our honorees, who exemplify the core values of the NCAA Division III Philosophy Statement."

In total, 483 student-athletes across 12 institutions received the distinction. With nine honorees, women's soccer led the way for the Bears while women's cross country followed with seven. Of the 13 Bears who are repeat honorees, nine have earned the distinction three times.

Two Bears — Ashleigh Hartwig (women's tennis) and Deserae Sequeira (women's soccer) — received All-Skyline second-team honors at the conclusion of their seasons while Daniella Alva (women's tennis) and Michael Kowlessar (men's cross country) earned spots on their sports All-Sportsmanship team.

Congratulations to all the honorees from SJC Brooklyn:
