Skyline Conference Reaffirms No Spectator Policy

Updated April 9, 2021

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Despite the updated guidance from Governor Cuomo allowing fans at collegiate sporting events beginning on April 2, the Skyline Conference will continue its policy of prohibiting spectators at this time. We thank you for your understanding and support.

Fans can still watch our games online with links available on our teams' schedule pages on sjcbears.com.

Official Statement from the Skyline Conference on April 9

The Skyline Conference Presidents Council confirmed today that it will continue to track the course of COVID-19, in consultation with campus and local health authorities, and revisit the policy relative to spectators at a later date. The current policy of not permitting fans at athletics events will remain in place at this time.

The Council continues to focus on allowing student-athletes to compete in a safe environment. The support of Skyline sports and patience shown by all of our fans and families is greatly appreciated.

Official Statement from Skyline Conference Commissioner Linda Bruno on April 2

The Skyline Conference policy of not permitting spectators at our athletics events will remain in place for the near future.  Our presidents, in consultation with our Directors of Athletics, campus and local health authorities will of course continue to revisit this policy.

Please know how difficult all of us realize this is for everyone, especially family members who have always been in the stands to cheer on our teams. Our main focus, however, is to proceed as we see necessary to keep our student-athletes safe.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we all navigate through a difficult time.

Linda Bruno
