Bio

Katie Bell joined the Bears staff as assistant director of athletics for compliance and student-athlete services and senior woman administrator in August 2022.

At St. Joseph's, Bell will provide oversight for the athletic department's compliance with the NCAA and the Skyline Conference — monitoring recruiting and student-athlete eligibility — and will be a sport administrator for several sports. In addition to being the advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Bell will serve as a resource for the varying life skill and developmental needs of the Bears student-athletes.

A northern California native, Bell comes to Brooklyn after working five years in southern California at her alma mater, Chapman University, where she received her bachelor's degree in Strategic and Corporate Communication in 2017 and a master's in Leadership Development in 2022. In her most recent position as administrative supervisor, which she held for two-and-a-half years, Bell was responsible for the planning and execution of numerous events; including the Chapman football kick-off dinner, the Panthers' Hall of Fame Banquet, and the school's student-athlete awards ceremony. She was a liaison between the athletic department and other university departments and oversaw the hiring and supervision of student workers.

Prior to her role as administrative supervisor, Bell spent nearly three years as the recreation sports manager and sports information assistant. She spearheaded Chapman's recreational, intramural, and club sport activities. Working closely with the sports information director, Bell helped design and edit promotional and marketing materials for all 21 of the Panthers' varsity athletic programs and curated content for the school's athletics website and social media channels.

As a Division III soccer student-athlete, Bell garnered All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team honors as a rookie and suited up 38 times for the Panthers, totaling five goals and eight assists over her four-year career. A member of two postseason teams at Chapman, Bell netted the game-winning penalty in their shootout win over Pomona-Pitzer in the SCIAC semifinal in 2016. She was also named to the league's All-Academic Team in 2015.
