Men’s Soccer Earns 1-1 Draw at Lehman Behind Naci’s Equalizer

BRONX, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, NY (Brooklyn) men's soccer team and Lehman College played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon from the Bedford Park neighborhood of the Bronx.

Victor Naci (Bordeaux, France/Bernard Pailssy) found the back of the net in the 70th minute to rescue the point for the Bears.

How it Happened

The Bears (2-2-1) and Lightning (1-2-2) combined for 10 shots with neither side breaking the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes.

Three minutes into the second half, Phillip Osei gave the hosts a 1-0 lead. Lehman held on to the lead for just over 20 minutes before Naci brought the match level; scoring on a 70th-minute free kick. SJBK had opportunities following the equalizer to take the win but ultimately took home a point.

For the Bears

  • Naci's goal brought him to six on the season. He finished with three shots on the day.

  • Lorenzo LaRosa (Astoria, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy) fired off two shots, both finding the frame of goal.

  • Three other Bears took shots, rounding out the team's nine in the game.

  • Leonel Bravo (Astoria, N.Y./Queens Vocational & Technical) made four saves in goal.
