Men's Volleyball Looks to Win Third Straight Hosting Cooper Union

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team (3-2) looks to win their third straight game at The Hill Center and move two games above .500 for the first time in program history, hosting Cooper Union (0-0) tonight with first serve at 7 p.m.

Storylines

• The Bears are coming off a three-set win over Sarah Lawrence Wednesday night. In the win, the team was powered by 20 total aces, including a program-record 13 aces from Norrin Martinez. He also added 17 assists.
• With a win the Bears would move above .500 by two games for the first time in program history.
• Entering the game, St. Joseph's led Division III in aces per set with 2.93, with three Bears ranked in the top 10 individually—Raul Urshela at No. 1 (0.73), Thomas Kennedy at No. 7 (0.67) and Martinez at No. 9 (0.60).
• Taso Kostikas is second on the team and fourth in the HVIAC with 2.07 kills per set and third in the conference with 37 total kills.
• Thomas Kennedy currently ranks fourth in the HVIAC with 2.20 digs per set and also adds 1.40 kills per set. He led the team with both nine kills and nine digs in their win over Sarah Lawrence.
• In the all-time series, the Hawks have owned a commanding 11-1 advantage against the Bears dating back to 2009.
