Storylines
- Coming off a three-game winning streak, men's volleyball dropped a straight-set non-conference decision to future Skyline Conference rivals Purchase College last Thursday. The Bears (7-4) collected 17 kills, led by Raul Urshela's eight kills, while Thomas Kennedy and Taso Kostikas contributed four kills each.
- Tonight's matchup is a rematch of last year's HVIAC Championship, St. Joseph's first time ever advancing to the title game.
- Both teams play for sole possession of first place with a win tonight
- The Bears seek their first win over the Maccabees in the 15th meeting all time – the Bears most faced opponent in program history, tied with Webb, who the Bears will face Thursday.
- Yeshiva University, two-time defending HVIAC champions and winners of three of the last five league titles, picked up their third win in a row sweeping Pratt Institute 3-0 last Thursday, led by Kolya Miller with 10 kills and eight digs. The win avenged the loss to the Cannoneers earlier in the season, their only league defeat thus far.
- Miller leads the Maccabees with 71 kills (1.65/set) on the season and was named HVIAC Player of the Week earlier today. Tuvia Marks is third on the team in kills (1.66/set) and leads the team in hitting (.293) and is the two-time reigning Rookie of the Week.
- Both teams are playing their final seasons in the HVIAC, but the Bears and Maccabees will continue their long-standing rivalry in the Skyline Conference next season.
