Men's Volleyball Falls in Three to SJC Long Island
PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team suffered their first loss in Skyline Conference play falling in straight sets to defending league champions St. Joseph's College (Long Island), 25-5, 25-18, 25-7, on Wednesday evening.
How it Happened
The Bears were held to just 11 kills in the match while their sibling rivals had 13 different players register a kill and combined for 47 at an efficient .582 hitting percentage. Brooklyn managed a brief lead to open the second, but Long Island led the rest of the way.
For the Bears
- Sophomore Dejon St. Rose-Cuffy (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) led the Bears with four kills and a pair of blocks (one solo).
- Rogers Hatanga Kwiringira (Corona N.Y./Greater New York Academy), Tim Driscoll (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's), Stephen Eddy (Glendale, N.Y./Christ the King) each chipped in two kills apiece. Driscoll finished with a team-high four digs.

The Bears have a day off before continuing their 11-game road stand heading to City College of New York for a non-conference tilt on Friday (Mar. 15) starting at 7 p.m.
