Bio

Former All-Skyline Conference honoree and alumnus Sean Salomons '19 was introduced as the fifth head men's volleyball coach at St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) in September 2020.

A former team captain, Salomons helped lead the Bears as a senior to their best finish in the conference capturing third place and earning the program's first trip to the Skyline Conference Championship tournament. The Bears nearly advanced to the title game before falling in a close, five-set battle with No. 2 seeded Purchase in the semifinal.

Salomons earned Second Team All-Skyline honors that season ranking in the top 10 in the league in hitting percentage (.112) and finishing second on the team in kills (163). A one-time Player of the Week, he was also third in the league with 44 total blocks and his 26 solo blocks were good for second. He still sits in fifth in the Bears record book in blocks (77) and seventh in kills (239). He also played three seasons on the basketball team, appearing in 61 games, making four starts.

An outstanding student off the court, Salomons graduated in 2019 with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average receiving a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice. He was named to the Skyline Academic Honor Roll four times and to the Bears Scholar-Athlete Team all three years of its existence. Salomons also served as the Bears Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) president and vice-president during his senior and junior years.

Since graduating, Salomons has been the assistant varsity coach of both the boys and girls volleyball and basketball teams at The Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn Heights. He assists in the creation of practice and developmental plans as well as the formulation of game plans. He also has worked for the Staten Island Musketeers/Supreme Basketball as the director of its high school AAU program since 2015.

A Staten Island native, Salomons still resides in Richmond County.
