Bio

Danielle Fazzolare was named head softball coach in November 2015 becoming the second head coach in team history and the only coach in the program's Skyline era.

In each of Fazzolare's first four seasons at the helm, the Bears have improved their standing within the Skyline Conference, earning the program's first playoff berths in 2018 and 2019. In her first season at the helm in 2016—the team's first season competing in the Skyline Conference—the team finished 9-17 overall and in eighth place. In her second season, the team doubled their wins and finished 18-12 overall and narrowly missed playoffs by being tied for sixth place in the conference. In 2019, SJC produced a program-best fifth-place finish and nearly advanced to the double-elimination round of the Skyline Championship before a late-inning rally ended their season in the first round.

Returning to the diamond after a shortened 2020 season, the Bears produced their highest Skyline win total (12) and highest league winning percentage (.600) in 2021, however despite finishing in fifth place, the Bears were left on the bubble for qualifying for the Skyline playoffs as the league altered the tournament format to four teams due to COVID-19.

Fazzolare has produced 13 All-Skyline Conference selections over her six-year tenure, seven who were named to the first team, including Ashleigh Hartwig who was named back-to-back Player of the Year in 2019—the first known rookie to receive the honor—and 2021. She has also helped develop two NFCA All-Region honorees.

Fazzolare's teams have also excelled in off the diamond and have produced consistently in the classroom compiling one of the highest team GPA's in the athletic department. Over the last six seasons, 67 of her student-athletes have landed on the Skyline Academic Honor Roll.

As a collegiate student-athlete from 2006 to 2009, Fazzolare was a member of the Ithaca College softball team. During her tenure, the Bombers were ranked nationally, capturing two Empire 8 Conference titles and making three NCAA Division III Nationals appearances, while reaching the NCAA Division III World Series in 2006 and 2008.

Prior to Ithaca, the Long Island native was a 5-year letterman as a starting pitcher and second baseman at Plainedge High School in Massapequa. A three-year captain for the Devils, Fazzolare received Nassau County Softball Association All-Division in 2003, All-Conference in 2004 and 2005 and All-County in 2006 and named team MVP her senior season.

Fazzolare is married to her wife Christina and they reside in Massapequa. She works as a special education teacher in the NYC Department of Education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in health education and physical education from Ithaca College and a Masters of Arts in intellectual disability/autism & childhood/middle childhood education from Columbia University.
